Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Alpha OS ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you register or sign in, we collect your email address and credentials you provide. We may also store profile and preference settings such as timezone, wake and bed times, habit selections, and onboarding choices.
Product and usage data. To operate Alpha OS, we process the content you enter in the Service, including daily habits, critical tasks, deep work sessions, scores, journal entries, debriefs, and related performance data you choose to log.
Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider (e.g., Stripe). We receive subscription status and billing metadata from that provider; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
Device and technical data. We may collect browser type, device identifiers, IP address, and similar technical information needed for security, authentication, and service delivery.
Push notifications. If you enable notifications, we may collect a device push token through Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can send alerts you request.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure;
- Sync your data across sessions and supported devices;
- Process subscriptions and communicate about billing;
- Send service-related messages, including push notifications you opt into;
- Respond to support requests and enforce our terms;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
3. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in (for example, an authentication token cookie) and to remember certain preferences. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may limit your ability to use signed-in features.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Service, including:
- Hosting and backend infrastructure for account and app data;
- Supabase, for authentication sync and realtime features where enabled;
- Firebase (Google), for push notification delivery;
- Payment processors, for subscription billing;
- Professional advisors or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations appropriate to their role.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us; some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You can disable push notifications in your browser or device settings. You may update account details in the Service where those features are available.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. International users
If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Those locations may have different data protection laws than your country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
